Emergency Rescue Committee- Iran has become one of the worst countries for Converted Christians. The ruling government of Iran is making all its efforts to control the numbers of Converted Christians.

In May 2019, Iran’s Minister of Intelligence, Mahmoud Alavi, admitted in a public gathering that his ministry in association with Shia religious leaders is seeking to combat the perceived threat of mass conversions to Christianity across the country. He furtherly admitted that his ministry is summoning converts to Christianity for questioning, which is a clear breach of Article 23 of the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This ongoing situation in Iran has created unrest amongst the Converted Christians.

A few days ago, another Converted Christian, Rokhsareh (Mahrokh) Ghanbari, has received Summons from the Islamic Revolutionary Court to appear on 27th July 2019.
Earlier to this, 65 years old Rokhsareh (Mahrokh) Ghanbari was arrested on last Christmas season while having a house Church meeting at her home in Karaj, Iran.

The Intelligence agency took Bibles and Christian Materials from her home and took her into the custody. She was arrested and kept under interrogation for 10 days, later on, she was released on bail.

In January 2019, she was summoned by the Islamic Revolutionary Court to appear before them. During the trial in January, she was charged with “A threat to National Security” and Propaganda against the System. She was also forced to visit the Islamic cleric who gave her instructions to reconvert to Islam.

Even knowing the gravity of the situation, this faithful lady did not change her faith and never surrendered to Islam. Now the Court has summoned her again to appear before them on 27th July 2019, where she will face charges of “A threat to National Security” and Propaganda against the System.

We, therefore, request you to Please keep these Persecuted Christians in your prayers. We believe that Prayer can change things and let us pray that May God protect Rokhsareh (Mahrokh) Ghanbari and all those who are facing such cases in Iran.
